When I was 16, I was traveling to London by myself to meet up with my auntie. The airplane developed mechanical problems shortly after take-off and had to land. The airline put us up in a hotel for the rest of the night. It was the first time I stayed in a hotel room by myself …and it was not a pleasant experience. I spent the whole night with the lights on, watching the doorknob to make sure no-one was trying to get in :)
